How to Measure Cord Loop Video Instructions

Select your string/cord thickness

To select the size of string you need, wrap your current unfrayed string around anything round (like a pencil) 10 times and measure the width of those 10 strands. Then match with the pictures below.

2.7mm String

1 1/16" approximate length when wrapped 10 times

3.2mm String

1 1/4" approximate length when wrapped 10 times

3.6mm String

1 3/8" approximate length when wrapped 10 times

Replacing Your Cord Loop Instructions

Cord loops are endless circles of string used in clutch lifting systems on roller, roman and cellular shades. The first step in replacing your cord loop is determining the loop’s thickness. Here is a very easy and accurate way to measure the thickness of your cord loop.

Wrap an unfrayed portion of your cord loop around anything round (like a pencil) 10 times, squeeze the strands together, and measure the width of those 10 strands. Then match with the pictures below. You can use the English or Metric System of Measurement.
