A 25 year old mini blind cord broke a few weeks ago. The company I purchased it from told me it was too old to be repaired. I would have to replace seven blinds in the living room so they would all match and the cost would be outrageous! I Googled "repair a mini blind" and found this site with its instructional video. I ordered new cord and a wire tool. Today, I repaired my blind and it works perfectly. Total cost: about $20! Thank You Fix My Blinds. I am certain I will continue to purchase from you.

What a great site! We have an older vertiglide blind on a set of sliders leading outside from bedroom. The string broke and i probably would have just replaced the whole blind assembly due to its age. The website is outstanding--particularly useful for the novice blind fixer are the blind diagrams with links to the parts you need. I have 3 nice Hunter Douglas blinds that the strings broke on (after 15 years) and I learned that paying to get them restrung in Denver, CO would have cost aroud $180.00. With your products and info, I will do it myself for around $15.00 (and it's not that difficult--there are a lot of detailed Youtube videos on how to do it). Anyway, the cord and parts arrived one day after I ordered, and my blinds are good to go! (hopefully for another 15 years). THX! :-)

Just wanted to tell you how happy we are at being able to "Fix My Blind"!! I've always looked to you for cord replacements but was a little worried about trying to fix the mechanism that actually opens and closes our blind. After watching your videos several times and checking more than once what part we did have, I ordered (knowing that if it was the wrong part I had 5 days to return it) the clutch set 02 and crossed all our fingers!

The string on my 17-year-old blind that covered the skylight in the shower finally broke and I found your sight and ordered the string, needle, wire and bead. It took all of and hour to restring the blind and that included getting new stainless screw and washers to mount the strings to the opening. After watching the video on how to route the string and then adjusting the length everything is repaired and I have enough string for the next repair.

After watching the tutorial explaining how to fix my blinds, I ordered the $10 part for five blinds. The replacement cost for the blinds would have been over $1000. I ordered the parts online onTuesday and received a confirmation from fixmyblinds.com about 45 minutes later saying they were shipped. Shipping was under five dollars by U.S. Post Office. I am so impressed with the illustrations on your site. The video was extremely helpful and gave me the confidence to take on the project of fixing our mini blind. We needed a new tilter mechanism. After carefully measuring, we ordered the part. It came quickly and fit perfectly. But after attaching the new wand, we found it didn't work. The blind did not open and close. My husband inserted a paper clip in the hole. A very tiny piece of plastic fell out. The blind then sort of opened and closed, but not consistently and only one way. Took everything apart again. Reassembled it and it now works great. Realized you were only a phone call away though if we were not successful. We thought at first we were just sent a faulty tilter. Still don't know exactly why it started working all of a sudden. We are very happy customers and very glad you exist. Thanks.

On 04/28/2014, I ordered 6 replace handles. I was surprised they came so fast.
The handles that came were also a THICKER PLASTIC and a improvement of the originals that came with my 2010 purchased Levelor blinds. On 11/12/2016, I order 10 more handles to replace broken ones and to complete my change over to the heaver handles. They also came fast, but they were the "original thinner plastic", not the improved version. Going back to the "original thinner plastic" part is a disappointment. And the price is still $3 each.
You need to dump the thin parts they break to easily.

It came close to backfiring though because weeks went by between the time I requested the samples and when they arrived. I had actually already decided you were unreliable and was in the process of looking for another source when the samples arrived. If I am a typical online purchaser, as I probably am, you might do better to be faster about the early part of the transaction when the potential customer is deciding whether to do business with you. After a call to Anderson Windows who referred me to Levolor who referred me to FixMyBlinds, was was pleased to be able to chat with a person who could offer help in finding endcaps for a blind in a window manufactured at least twenty-two years ago. The FixMyBlinds chatter said it was possible that the cap they had that was close to the right size might work, and my consequent order was delivered in two days. Although the fit isn't perfect, with the help of a little tape, I made them fit into their brackets and am grateful to have the blind staying in place. For what it's worth, I have not found blinds inserted between either two panes of glass or a pane and a screen to have much lasting power.

The hardware store only had generic curtain line and it was all over the floor getting tangled up in things. The cord loops worked in the gear mechanism fine - maybe even better than the generic. I changed the tilt mechanism, so you first select the correct channel dimensions, then rod cross-section, then the replacement hardware -- couldn't be easier. I didn't realize the screws didn't come with the brackets. Luckily my husband had some on hand. The pins do not stay straight and solid in the blind base. I didn't think it would work since the hole in the bracket where the pin head goes is just that, a hole, not a slot type opening. Once we marked and remarked and measured and finally got it on, it is solid. I can open and close my door without swinging the blinds.

Living full time in an RV can be a bit of a challenge. They are called RV for a reason. They really weren't built to live in full time however many of us do. I have the day & night shades in my 5th wheel. They are built to wear out and break.... and they do quite often. The strings are the part that wears out. Pulling them up and down every day wears them quickly. Thankfully I have a source to get the supplies needed quickly and cost effectively. The last time I ordered string was about 3 years ago as I recall. Well all at once I have four blinds give it up and stick half way open. A few years back I bought what were supposed to be 2 good quality wood blinds as part of a remodeling project. As project delays go they were not installed until over a year after purchase. Within 6 months the tilters were not operating smoothly and after a few more months they both failed. These blinds are only opened a few times a week so I was not impressed with the quality and set out to find better tilters. On your website I found the 047 model with metal shafts and gears for about $3 more than the standard all plastic ones. After receiving them (a day earlier than expected) I was convinced that they were much higher quality than the junk I removed. I installed them, and what a difference!! They work perfectly, I can shut the blinds tighter, very smooth operation and they fit perfectly.
Anyone that has had durability problems with tilters, spend the extra $3 for the heavy duty model like the 047. Well worth the extra money!

I ordered replacement tilters for my blinds and found the process to be very easy by following the links on this website. I replaced the tilters on my Home Depot 2" wide blinds with the Low Profile Wand Tilter- Premium (031) which was a perfect match. The video on the website and hint from another viewer on how to remove and replace the tilters was excellent and I was able to replace them with very little difficulty. The rod on the blinds was crimped, so I had to improvise to spread the headrail and gently lift the rod up to slide the old tilter off and place the new one. We into the store to replace a Hunter Douglas Cord Lock for our pleated honeycomb shades. The old plastic piece had grooves cut into the plastic from the cord and cut the cord. This shade is on the most used window in the house and the shades are almost 23 years old! We went into get a replacement and the design has changed to now be metal instead of the plastic. Makes me think it might be a good idea to change out all of the Cord Locks!
They also slipped off the old cover and put it on the new Cord Lock for us. Talk about service AND with a smile!

The service was prompt and I received a coupon when I sent for samples. The online video demonstrating how to restring my blinds was incredibly helpful. Although my blinds had a slightly different design, I was able to see what needed to be done. The trickiest part is getting the strings through with the wire restring tool, especially since my design differed. I cut the wire in two and used it both to push on one end and hook on the other end, and this worked. Just be sure you know where the strings are supposed to go before you cut the old ones. My blinds are now fixed and I am delighted.

I recently purhcased an existing home in Phoenix. I had 4 Levelor ventetain blinds that the original plastic "tilters" were broken or the wire loop was bent and we could not operate them. Also the blind fascial clips were discolored or broken.

A few months ago a cord in my honeycomb shade broke. I was bummed as I thought this was going to cost me a lot of money to fix or possibly replace. I happened to look at a video similar to this and was sure I could do this fix with no problem. I was already going to Home Depot so I thought I would check to see if they carried cord and threading tools for me to fix the blind. Not only did they not carry such items, the clerk in the window covering department discouraged me from trying to fix it saying that he had tried it and it was very hard. I live in Canada and have a Canadian credit card but also have a US mailing address. Your website requires the billing address for the credit card but will NOT accept the correct Canadian address. Your chatline agent was helpful and suggested using my US address since this is a known issue. I was then able to place my order. Validation of a credit card using an incorrect address seems next to useless. Other sites refuse validation unless the billing address is correct.
Your shipping rates to Canada are outrageously expensive and if I did not have a US mailing address would not have placed the order. To charge ca. $32 to ship a small box or envelope is simply too much.

I had wooden blinds on two sliders with one valence clip between them. I didn't even know what search term to use in Google to buy new ones. "Blinds valence bracket" returned pictures from the "Identify Your Part" page of FixMyBlinds for valence clips. There were a million (not quite, but a bunch) available. Fantastic! My 77 year old neighbor asked me to look at her vertical blind. Pulling the tilt chain did nothing. I surmised the problem was the control end. Using the great pictures and measurements from FIXMYBLINDS I ordered the VC-01 control end. I don't know how to express my appreciation for your website! I thought for sure I would have to replace some of my blinds where the tilter mechanism had broken. My wife thought we'd have to throw out an expensive Sheer Weave Shade after the mounting brackets broke but I was able to find and order the necessary parts on this site.

My wife was opening the blinds when the Low Profile Wand Tilter broke.
Ratheir than replacing a hundred and thirty dollar set of blinds. I found FixMyBinds.com and was able to find a new Tilter and two Wood Wands at a fraction of the price.
I ordered these parts on a Wednesday and received them on Saturday. How cool is that?...

Just purchased a beautiful two-story home with a lot of large windows but the expensive blinds that had been installed by the previous owner had the tilt drums crumbling due to age and/or UV exposure. After spending 20-30 minutes on the Levolor site, I was not able to be able to identify any options that would provide a solution to my problem, simply Vertical Blind Repair Clips.
The ordering process was simple.
After completing the deal, l went back to Your Visit tips and videos. Much to my surprise I found that I could replace the fasteners on the track that had broken as well. Levelors solution was to buy a new track. Your solutions provide better economics complete with how to instructions. Watch for my next order....

I was directed to go to "How to Order" which was no where to be found. My son-in-law helped me place the order by writing the order number in the search box and I was able to place the order going that route. The ordering feature definitely needs improvement.

I am SO GRATEFUL to have found "Fix My Blinds". I called the retail company we purchased our blinds from, from trying to get help for repairing the pull-strings... they never did they return my call. Once I discovered our blinds were actually made by someone else, and found the right configuration on FMB's site, it was a piece of cake to get the correct parts shipped to us. I accidentally ordered the wrong item and sent them back with a note and a sample asking them to see if they could replace the wrong items with the correct item. Got an email immediately saying they were sending out the correct item and there would be no shipping charge or other charge. What a company! Wow! I had a quote from a company to come fix my blinds @ $125. I was tempted to have them do it, but my wife talked me out of it. Your videos showed me how to change the tilting mechanism and your web site made it easy for me to identify what part I needed. For a total cost of $13 for the part and shipping and about 10 minutes of my time the repair was complete! I didn't even have to take down the blinds. I'm a happy camper!!!!!
