  The shade goes up unevenly.

My shade won’t stay locked in the position that I want it to.

Possible Solutions
1. The string is fraying or has been crushed. Replace the string. Click here to determine your string size.

2. You may need to replace the cord lock. Click here to browse our cord locks.

When I raise and lower my shade, the bottom rail is uneven.

Possible Solutions
1. One of the cords is beginning to fray. Replace the string. Click here to determine your string size.

2. The cord could be rubbing through the cord guide or rubbing a groove in the cord lock. Take the shade apart and inspect the cord guides and lock. Look for sharp edges or points of wear. Replace any worn out parts. You may also need to restring the blind.

The strings are too short, and I cannot reach them to pull the shade up.

Possible Solutions
You can add a condenser(LINK) and longer pull cord (LINK).

Fabric Problems

The fabric has split at the crease. How can this be repaired?

Possible Solutions
There is no repair for this. It’s time to purchase a new shade.

I’ve lost the crispness of the pleats. The fabric is sagging down to bottom rail.

Possible Solutions
There’s no repair for this. It’s time to purchase a new shade. To prevent this problem in the future, open tightly every day.

The fabric of my shade is puckered out and won’t fold properly when the shade is raised and lowered.

Possible Solutions
1. If the fabric has shrunk width-wise (i.e. water damage) and now the holes in the fabric don’t line up with the holes in the rails, it is time to purchase a new shade.

2. If the strings have cut into the cord guides and rails and possibly torn the fabric, it is time to purchase a new shade.

Mounting Problems

My painter/window replacement contractor took my shades down and threw away the brackets.

Possible Solutions
Purchase new mounting brackets here.

My pleated shades that are mounted on my French door are banging around when I open or close the door.

Possible Solutions
Purchase and install hold down brackets.

When I raise and lower my shade, the back rubs up against the wall, trim or glass.

Possible Solutions
You might need to remount your shade further away from the surface that is being rubbed. In some cases extension brackets or spacer blocks can be used to provide the additional clearance needed.
